Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation

On December 20, 2018, the Lieutenant-Governor appointed the following individuals to the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation (NLHC) for three-year terms:

  • Karen Alexander
  • Derrick House
  • David Loveys
  • Colin O’Brien
  • Fraser Piccott

NLHC is a provincial crown corporation operating under the authority of the Housing Corporation Act, and is responsible for the implementation of government’s overall public housing policy and programs. The NLHC operates and maintains 5599 social housing units and provides rental supplements for low-income clients in an additional 1750 privately owned homes and apartments.

NLHC also develops and delivers a number of other housing related programs designed to address health and safety, accessibility and energy efficiency issues for low-income homeowners in the province.

NLHC works closely and in partnership with community and other social advocacy groups to meet the varied housing needs and enhance the quality of life of our mutual clients.
